THE ENVIRONMENT

The dramatic mountain scenery, the multitude of beaches around the coast (over 190 if you care to count them all), and the network of underground springs that feed its semi-tropical vegetation keeping it lush and green, has ensured that Elba, unlike some of its more rocky Italian sister islands, continues to have a great allure. Famously, Napoleon, given the choice of a number of islands on which to spend his time in exile after his abdication, chose Elba for the gentleness of its climate and people.

Sunset Villa, with its superb beach access, is located ten miles to the South of the capital of Portoferraio, close to the village of Capoliveri, on the slopes of Monte Calamita. You may find yourself quickly drawn into the very pleasant routine of venturing up to the village for a morning cappuccino and some pastries purchased from one of the many sweet-smelling bakeries. If you stay for a wandering around, you will find that Capoliveri is very pretty with two bright, central piazzas, teeming with cafés and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The maze of characterful little streets off the Via Roma are traffic-free, narrow and steep. Stone archways give way to sudden sunlit piazzas and striking views of the mountains or cobalt blue waters.

Sunset Villa is one part of a detached holiday residence. It is set in a very peaceful spot on a green hillside, which welcomes you with the sweet scents of rosemary, broom and eucalyptus. The hill slopes down to the nearby bay.

Here, you'll find the coastline laced with small, secluded beaches and, like generations before you, you'll be delighted by the rocky terrain and crystal blue color of the Mediterranean Sea. When you arrive, you'll find your eye drawn to the west, towards Corsica and some truly spectacular sunsets.



SUNSET VILLA (up to 8 guests )

A five minutes' walk to the nearest beach and located in one of the most sought after areas of the island, Sunset Villa is one of the very best examples of a beautifully designed modern beach house anywhere in Elba. You will fall in love with the stunning views and sunsets, the great 'infinity pool' and al fresco dining.

Interiors throughout Sunset Villa are beautifully designed in modern and contemporary style, with comfortable sofas and beds throughout. The house has complimentary Wi-Fi and a superb 60" flat tv. Bedrooms are equipped with a "bio switch" to block any harmful electromagnetic fields and ensure a refreshing sleep.

Sunset Villa has 200 sqm of living space and a 300 sqm terrace with terrific views of the Gulfs of Lacona and Stella, surrounded by a beautifully designed 5.000 sqm garden, with olive trees, palm trees, orange and lemon trees, and a manicured lawn with wonderful flowers and a "neoclassical think tank" with plug socket, ideal for your relaxation.

There are a host of outdoor features that are designed to lend themselves superbly to holidaying in this part of the world. There is a spectacular chlorine-free 'infinity swimming pool', 13 x 7 m (NOT FENCED), with outdoor hot shower. Beautifully set up around the pool are high quality loungers and parasols. All overlooks glorious sunsets.

The villa, completely renovated in 2014, has four bathrooms and four bedrooms, three of which have queen-size beds and an internal bathroom.The fourth bedroom is smaller, with bunk beds, two safes, and equipped with a "bio switch" to block any harmful electromagnetic fields, to ensure a refreshing sleep. The windows have mosquito nets.

The living-room has a seating area with cushioned alcoves for relaxing, French windows opening onto lawns, gardens and outdoor living spaces, and a large wall-mounted 60 inch smart flat satellite TV. Hi-Fi, a DVD-player as well as a fireplace are also available. Particular attention has been devoted to colors, to the furniture and to using natural materials for insulation and painting.There is also direct access to the swimming pool (caution for young children).

There is a spacious well equipped kitchen (Inventory), also part of the open living space, travertino counter tops, modern and ideal for a culinary challenge - dishwasher, multiple professional gas hobs, oven, large fridge-freezer, laundry machine, oven, iron, ironing board. You can also eat al fresco under a large palm tree at the outdoor marble dining table, or enjoy an aperitif on the roofed sea-view terrace.

... and furthermore you will discover in our garden herbs (like sage, rosemary, oregano ...) and lemons.

THE DEPENDANCE (up to 4 guests )

There is also, at guests' disposal, a spacious independent dépendance with sea view (rentable only together with the villa); it accommodates up to 4 guests on sofa beds in an open plan living space, comprising living room, dining and fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher. It's a bright space with large French windows and direct access to the garden (with terrace, deck chairs, table and chairs).
